This picture really conveys its message! I do actually feel uncomfortable when I look at this picture because it makes the imagination of censorship and suppression so real! The technique totally proves advantageous to the idea that stands behind it. The piercing stare and the stern expression make it probably even more impressive than if the man would be screaming in rage. The highlithed eyes literally protrude from the photo so that you can hardly avoid them. What contributes immensely to the picture (and what probably is your whole point about the construction) is the hands' transparency. Being translucent gives them a somewhat mystical quality like being ghostly or supernatural, which makes the fear of enslavement only grow bigger. And that it is b/w (with high contrast and black background) underlines the seriousness you naturally connect with things as enslavement, censorship, suppression or sensory deprivation and silencing criticism.
