Veľká Studená Dolina (The Great Cold Valley), High Tatras, Slovakia
Vertical panorama from 2 pictures.
Beyond the mountains there is the other world. A world, in which souls fly free, where is no sadness but only joy.
If you look carefully, you can discover a chammy (kamzík) at the right side of the mountain, which came along to make company for a lonely photograph...
A végtelen tengerhez ér a nagy folyó, s a terheket leteszi, s tiszta habja kél. Így ürítsd ki a lelkedet.
Mit felszedett, a hordalék, mitől vize oly zavaros, a múlttal terhelt tiszta lét, fájó képeitől habos.
Lenyugszik majd a nagy folyó Lelassul, habja kisimul, megérzi azt, hogy élni jó, s szeretni, változatlanul. /Aranyosi Ervin: A lélek és a folyó/
Im sorry, that the poem is only in hungarian language, but I just cant find a translation of it...
I really like this landscape. It shows that you are really good, at using your Ultra Wide Angle lenses. You know a lot about photographing landscapes, which is shown by the good lead-in line used (the stream). Obviously your technique is really good, and you have used the long exposure really well to create foreground interest. The focusing is great and the composition works really well. I love the colors, and the overall effect of the logo.
I have some things that could be improved, and these are: 1. I feel that the photo is somehow falling backwards slightly. This might be because of the perspective shown, but it seems like it is tipping back. 2. I think that the sky needs some work on. I am not sure whether you overexposed it or what, but it is a weird color of grey. 3. I am not sure what is happening here, with the clouds. You obviously used a long exposure, but the cloud is not blurred. It looks slightly unnatural, that the water is blurred and the sky is not.
A low mark for originality simply because of the blurred water thing (I see it too much).
Overall a fantastic piece. I love it and it has had good impact on me.
Very powerful image Victor, dynamic and with great depth, and the Chamois gives it a feeling akin to witnessing this 'other world' or the promise of it lying beyond. Great story telling image, cheers
